'Deadly' Derek opens nets

Former England bowler Derek Underwood visited Wymondham College yesterday to officially open the new cricket nets at the school. Underwood, who is President Elect of the MCC, also watched a first XI game in the afternoon.

Wymondham Judo Club once again fielded over 50 players at the regional grading, held at Stalham. Having already completed their theory requirement in-club (although higher grades also have to demonstrate their theory on the day), several clubs get together every three months for similar age and grade opponents to compete against each other..

Euro win for Lizards

WYMONDHAM Lizards U8 represented Switzerland in the Euro 2008 Soccer on the Sands Tournament. With part of the team unable to play there were no expectations and the emphasis was to have fun; however with Ben Bailey on loan from United the Lizards triumphed and took Switzerland all the way to the final to become Euro 2008 winners..
